The Adventure Therapy Project

We think these folks have it right!  I can’t tell you how many of our customers have struggled with anxiety, depression, or isolation in the past.  We know there are a lot of people suffering.  It’s good that we’re talking about it.  That said; a lot of our customers are combatting these health issues with exercise, reading, enlightenment, engaging with others (…activity, we’ll say).  Lack of connection and not using our ‘adventure’ instinct may be related.  Here’s what The Adventure Therapy Project has to say about it:

From Their Facebook Page:

…’What if I told you there is a secret formula to health and happiness? What if I told you that secret formula was really just spending more time outside, in nature? Well, it is true, and science has shown that spending time in nature will make you happier! If you participate in an Adventurous activity, you are going to benefit mentally, emotionally and physically. The great thing about adventure is that it is what you want it to be. It can be hiking, biking, running, kayaking, camping, skiing, the list goes on.

People today are less happy and more stressed than ever before. More people spend more time staring at screens then they do breathing in fresh air. The Adventure Therapy Project was created to help get people, young and old, outside more. Our projects and products will encourage people to make time to escape the stress of their lives and see the beauty of nature, while also improving their mental and physical health.

With the purchase of any of our products, $1 for each item sold will go to three selected charities that help to make people’s lives better and promote people interacting positively nature.  If you don’t believe that Adventure Therapy can help, take the “Adventure Therapy Project Challenge”. Spend one hour in nature, take in the smells and listen to the sounds. See how you feel afterwards, we guarantee you will feel better! (Science tells us so)”

And we want to be a part of it.  We think these folks hit the nail on the head.

There are a lot of people out there who need a leader… Someone to organize an event.  They would love to participate but don’t have the confidence or knowledge to ‘just go out and do’ the activity.  That’s where ‘The Adventure Therapy Project’ comes in.  They will plan an outing, take people out, provide an organized activity, and then return them safely home.  We will be working with them on the next event to provide delicious healthy back-road food.  Not sure of the menu or the location yet, but it’s going to be a great time.

Amherst Toyota is sponsoring the event and will be helping to organize the drive.  Toyota, as you know, has a whole culture of back-road fun, family values, and safety.  We will be working with them to put together a fun afternoon-long winter event exploring the back roads nearby and meeting up with The Adventure Therapy Project for an activity, then some food.  We pitched the event to them and they supported whole-heartedly. Thank you Amherst Toyota and Atlantic TRD Enthusiasts.
